We are delighted to announce the first exhibition in our new gallery space at the NDSM Wharf.
The move to the NDSM wharf takes Motive Gallery from Amsterdam's canal zone to the banks of the IJ. Once an industrial heartland for Amsterdam, the area is full of distinctive industrial buildings that present an alternative perspective on Amsterdam. Motive Gallery will join the Niew Dakota foundation, a new centre for contemporary art, in occupying two former metal workshops that have been adapted to be an exciting and innovative exhibition space, designed by Hugo Timmermans (Optic) i.c.w. Allard architecture. The site is just a stone's throw of the NDSM-werfveer ferry making it easily accessible from Centraal Station.
For the inauguration of the new space Motive Gallery presents Proche, très proche (Close, very close) by Dominique Petitgand.
